Academic Profile
I am a trained historian and art historian focusing on the modern Middle East, especially Iran during the long 19th century. I work on political, social and cultural history through the nuanced reading and contextualization of both written and visual sources. I am also the managing director of the successful digital humanities project 'Khamseen: Islamic Art History Online.'
