Jennifer Jenkins

Academic Profile

Jennifer Jenkins is Associate Professor of German and European History at the University of Toronto, where she held a Canada Research Chair in Modern German History from 2004 to 2014. She is the author of several publications on Germany, Iran and global history. These include two book manuscripts, "Germany's Great Game: The Reich and Iran in the Age of Empire" and "Germany Among the Global Empires 1815 to the Present." Jenkins has held fellowships from the Canada Research Chairs Program, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the Center for European Studies at Harvard University and the National Endowment for the Humanities. She has been a Senior Associate Member of St. Antony's College Oxford (2013-2014) and an Associate at the Zentrum Moderner Orient Berlin (2017-2018). Her future projects include an edited volume "Tehran 1943: Iran and the Second World War" and "The German Orient 1905-1979"
